How to silently install Install Manager

For example for 1.8.6
agent.installer.linux.gtk.x86_64_1.8.6000.20161118_1611/installc -acceptLicense

How to record response file for WAS, WAS FP, SDS or any other install manager install

  1. Connect via SSH with X forwarding
  2. Run
/opt/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse/IBMIM -skipInstall /tmp/imRegistry -record /tmp/was-fp-response-file.xml If the installer crashes see the troubleshooting section

How to update Install Manager

Get the fixpack version of the new manager, not the install version. On Fix Central it will be lableled something like this: 1.8.5.0-IBMIM-Multiplatform-Update-20160506_1125 and the actual file will be com.ibm.cic.agent.offering_1.8.5000.20160506_1125.zip

  1. then run
/opt/IBM/InstallationManager/eclipse/tools/imcl install com.ibm.cic.agent -repositories $(pwd)/repository.config -preferences offering.service.repositories.areUsed=false
